It was estimated the ring would go for $200,000 to $500,000. The engagement ring sold for $749,000 and once, Christie took her fee Kris received $620,000. It was a good deal for the auctioneer who won the ring because even if the ring is only worth $1.5 million the winning bidder got double the amount he/she paid for it.
It was rumored to be unsure if it was Kim Kardashian's engagement ring or not, but Kris Humphrie's reps put out a statement confirming that it was in fact, Kim Kardashian's engagement ring. Here is the statement:
"The ring is indeed Kris' property that he received through his marriage dissolution. He has long-since moved on. Kris is very much looking for a successful auction at Christie's and of course to returning to the court this upcoming NBA season as a Boston Celtic."
Kris was waiting for the divorce to be final before auctioning the ring off. He is moved past his relationship with Kim Kardashian and is focusing on his NBA career. He is glad everything worked out the way it did at the auction today.
